The initiative, developed with Keren Yarhi-Milo, Dean of Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, officially launches on Monday. It’s part of Columbia’s Institute of Global Politics.

"Japan is a big priority for us," Keren Yarhi-Milo, dean of Columbia's School of International and Public Affairs, told Nikkei in a recent interview.

“We are so proud to launch the Institute of Global Politics, which will cement Columbia University as an epicenter of global policymaking,” said Yarhi-Milo.

SIPA hosted its first inaugural summit for the Institute of Global Politics, where Clinton and Yarhi-Milo gave opening remarks. Yarhi-Milo said, “We need to break out of the echo chamber and move beyond the US-centric approach that has sometimes limited our ability to solve global challenges.”

Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state, and Keren Yarhi-Milo, a professor of international relations, are leading weekly lectures for a class at Columbia called “Inside the Situation Room.”

In a course co-taught by the former secretary of state and Columbia SIPA dean Keren Yarhi-Milo ’03GS, students learn how global leaders make world-changing decisions.
